At a young age, john Milton was convinced that he was destined for broadness. I dont hypothecate that Milton mean his life to parallel Satan. The description of hell on earth as emit dark is because enlightenment is seen as in effect(p) of light; therefore, to study the complete opposite of Heaven is hell. Also, Heavens light is joyful and darkness implies a sadness, a lose of joy... so this, I recollect, is a reason why hell is dark. I dont think Milton pitied himself over his blindness espeically considering he primed(p) to his daughter more or less of Paradise Lost. Anyways, that is scarce my opinion.
